Fairground hours & gate admission

Gate admission covers the carnival grounds, exhibits, petting zoo, live music concerts, the Best Dressed Contest, the Queen’s Contest and the food trucks. Rodeo tickets are separate.

Rodeo tickets are separate. Presale rodeo tickets are $20 and include grounds admission. At the gate it is $10 grounds admission plus a $20 rodeo ticket. A season pass with grounds admission for all three rodeo nights is $45. Children under 10 are free. Buy tickets →

Accessibility

Accessible parking & seating

  • Visitors who need assistance may be dropped off at the gate before the driver parks.
  • A limited number of accessible parking spaces are available.
  • For the rodeo, accessible parking is on Nelda Street west of the arena. Come down Stratton Street, then turn left onto Nelda into the parking lot.
  • The rodeo arena is wheelchair accessible, with ramps and wheelchair spaces on both sides of the arena.

Seguin sits on I-10 about 35 minutes east of San Antonio and 50 minutes south of Austin via SH-130. The parade on Friday runs through downtown Seguin, a few minutes north of the fairgrounds — expect street closures downtown between 8:00 AM and noon.

Frequently asked

How much is admission?

$10 at the gate on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Kids 10 and under are free. Kickoff Weekend (Oct 3) and Sunday (Oct 11) are free for everyone. Parking is $10.

Does gate admission include the rodeo?

No. Rodeo tickets are $20 in presale and include grounds admission. If you buy at the rodeo gate you pay $10 grounds admission plus $20 for the rodeo. The three-night season pass with grounds admission is $45.

Does gate admission include carnival rides?

No. Carnival armbands are sold separately. Buying in advance saves you money — $28.63 online versus $30 at the fair. An armband is good for one continuous six-hour session on any single day of the fair; the clock starts on your first ride. Most rides require riders to be at least 36 inches tall. Are there free days or free groups?
  • Everyone: Kickoff Saturday, Oct 3, and Sunday, Oct 11.
  • Kids 10 and under: free every day.
  • Military and students: free all day Friday until 7:00 PM with ID.
  • Seniors: free Friday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
  • Thursday: free for everyone until 6:00 PM.
  • Members and volunteers: free entry and parking.
Is the fairgrounds accessible?

Yes. Guests can be dropped at the gate before parking, limited accessible parking is available, and the rodeo arena has ramps and wheelchair spaces on both sides. Rodeo accessible parking is on Nelda Street west of the arena.

What is Kickoff Weekend?

The weekend before the fair — October 3–4 — with the BBQ Cookoff, the Backyard Jokerz cornhole tournament benefiting the scholarship fund, the Mutton Bustin’ Bonanza qualifying round, the Wild West Rodeo Kids’ Day events, live wrestling, a free dance, and the Scholarship Roping Fiesta on Sunday. Grounds and parking are free.

Can I bring my dog?

Service animals are always welcome. Pets are welcome at the Sunday Pet Show at 1:30 PM. Please contact us before bringing a pet onto the grounds at other times.

What happens if it rains?

The parade runs rain or shine. Carnival operating times and individual ride availability may be affected by weather, maintenance or other operating conditions. Check our Facebook page for same-day updates.

Where do I pick up my exhibits?

Home Arts and Horticulture entries must be picked up on Sunday, October 11, between 4:00 and 5:30 PM only. There are no exceptions — anything not collected is disposed of at the chairman’s discretion.
