About the Association

A volunteer organization encouraging agriculture, horticulture and stock farming in Guadalupe County — and putting local young people through school — since 1883.

What we do

The purpose of the Fair Association is to encourage agricultural, horticultural and stock farming through the maintenance of public fairs and exhibits of stock and farm products.

The fair is run by its members and volunteers. Hundreds of people give their time each year to put on four days of rodeo, carnival, music, exhibits, livestock shows, a parade and a full slate of youth competitions — and the proceeds go back into scholarships for Guadalupe County students.

The Association is a member of the Texas Association of Fairs & Events and works closely with Guadalupe County 4-H and area FFA chapters.

Our history

The Guadalupe County Fair is one of the oldest county fairs in Texas. The Association is currently preparing an expanded history section — historic photographs, milestones, traditions and memorable moments from across the years.

Since 2002

True Women Drill Team

The True Women Drill Team performs at the Guadalupe County Fair and PRCA Rodeo, honoring the traditions of South Texas women through horsemanship, teamwork and precision riding.

Formed in 2002 and named for Seguin native Janice Woods Windle’s novel True Women, the team honors the pioneer women who settled Guadalupe and surrounding counties. Members work to emulate the courage, perseverance and determination of their fore-mothers as they ride to celebrate the successes of overcoming the hardships of pioneer life.

Beyond rodeos, equestrian events and parades, the True Women volunteer their time and horses for service projects — including the Chris Krossing Foundation Survivor’s Day for Gold Star Families — and educational programs for youth organizations.

The True Women open the PRCA rodeo each night with a flag presentation to honor our country, and perform their high-speed precision drill during the rodeo.

These ladies would love to perform for your event or conduct an educational program for your group. Search True Women Drill Team on Facebook and Instagram.
