Produce competition
Exhibits are displayed in the Coliseum and judged by qualified judges. Exhibitors are encouraged to submit their finest Texas-grown produce.
Rules
- All exhibits must be raised in Texas and grown by the exhibitor during 2026 only.
- Exhibits are accepted Wednesday, October 7, 2:00–7:00 PM, and Thursday, October 8, 9:00–10:00 AM.
- Each exhibit must be accompanied by a completed entry form — forms are available during check-in.
- Entries may be picked up Sunday, October 11, between 4:00 and 5:30 PM. Anything not picked up during this window is discarded.
- Youth Division: participants 17 and younger, judged using the same standards as the Adult Division.
Judging & premiums
Each exhibit is judged according to commercial standards for that item — uniform size, color, maturity and overall quality. Large size or unusual shape alone does not represent quality produce and does not meet the commercial standards used for judging. All judges’ decisions are final.
- Blue, red and white ribbons for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in every class, Youth and Adult.
- Each department awards a Grand Champion (Tri-Color Ribbon).
- One Overall Grand Champion (Purple Rosette) and one Overall Reserve Grand Champion (Pink Rosette) in both Adult and Youth divisions.

All entries must comply with the produce competition rules. Complete class lists, including the vegetable and fruit departments, are in the Fair Guide.
